NCP candidate upset over failure to address complaint

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and its candidate in Keishamthong A/C Laisom Ibomcha expressed his dissatisfaction over the Director General of Police (DGP), CEO and other election authorities' failure to take necessary actions against the two Sub Inspector of Imphal West Commandos, who threatened and assaulted Ibomcha and his workers, even after written complaints were submitted.
Questioning the motive of the officials and how the election will go fairly with such acts, Laisom Ibomcha who is also the Vice President and Spokesperson of NCP told reporters that two teams of Imphal West CDOs led by P Maniratan and P Tarun in vehicles marked Imphal West CDO 20 and Imphal West CDO 21 stopped him and his workers on the night of January 12 at around 8.30 pm at Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai.
The CDO teams who were waiting there near the Solar Union Club premises made all the workers of Ibomcha lied down with their faces on the ground and threatened him never to conduct election campaign in that area.
He further said that the two SIs of Imphal West CDO are relatives of Health Minister L Jayentakumar who is contesting the election in Keishamthong A/C as Congress candidate.
In connection with the incident, he had already lodged a complaint with the DGP on January 14.Copies of the complaint were also submitted to the CEO, Imphal West SP, OC of Imphal West CDO, General Observer of Keishamthong A/C Chandrahas Dubbey and Police Observer of the constituency Anurag Tankha to investigate into the incident and take up necessary actions against them.
However, the authorities concerned have failed to initiate any actions against the accused, he lamented.
