Man arrested in Naorem Leikai case

Imphal, June 19 2021:
A man said to be directly involved in thrashing one Longjam Jibanlata during a scuffle that occurred on April 24 at Kakwa Naorem Leikai has been arrested by police and remanded to seven days police custody by a court.
The arrested man identified as Thokchom John (34) son of late Rajendro was produced before the court of CJM Imphal West through video conferencing on Saturday.
As per the IO's report, John is the person directly involved in pulling Jibanlata from police vehicle and thrashing the woman.
Police raided John's house repeatedly to arrest him but could not as he went hiding for a long time.
He was finally arrested on June 18.After studying the IO's report thoroughly, the court sent John to seven days police custody.
