Claiming of a life threat on her husband by OC KNA tactical HQ, wife of an ex-ADC Chandel member on Saturday demanded that "immediate action" be initiated from the side of the government in this regard.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, Chinneichong Mate claimed that her husband Ch Ngamthang Mate, ex-member ADC Chandel, has been threatened by Thenkhothang Haokip alias Thangboi alias Thahpi, OC KNA Tactical HQ .
She informed that her husband, who was elected on Congress ticket in the ADC election from 14-Sibong Constituency of Chandel district, and some of his colleagues, joined BJP in 2017 to form a stable government.
As a result, Thenkhothang warned him (Ngamthang) that as the then government was formed in connivance with the KNO leaders, he will be awarded capital punishment for leaving his parent party.
Therefore, he has not been able to stay at his home at M Shimoul village near Moreh for two years now.
Her husband was even attacked at his quarters at National Games Village, Imphal.
Thenkhothang Haokip also warned her husband against contesting in the forthcoming district council election failing which he would be assassinated, Chinnei-chong said.
She went on to allege that the KNA leader sent one of his cadres at her M Shimoul residence around 1 am on May 24, 2021, but the cadre returned as she was with some of her relatives.
Chinneichong continued, "Consequently, it is learnt from reliable source that Thenkhothang Haokip had issued shoot at sight order on my husband.
Fearing for his life we could not settle peacefully at home at M Shimoul village...We have fled to remote village facing untold hardships.
What have my husband done against the KNA that such a horrific order had been issued against him"? .
The wife of the ex-ADC member then demanded authorities concerned to take up immediate action with regard to the matter before any untoward incident happens so that they can settle peacefully at their village.
