All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) observed "Remembrance Day," a tribute event to martyrs, at ANSAM Memorial Park in Kapaam village under Chandel (Chamdil) district.
Speaking at the event, ANSAM president Wanglar Thiirtung saluted the martyrs, who had sacrificed their valuable life for the cause of Nagas and urged the Nagas to come together and unite for a bigger cause leaving aside all Indian political mindset.

The future generations need to acknowledge the invaluable sacrifice of the martyrs, he added.
In his address, ANSAM general secretary AC Thotso noted that great courage and sacrifice are necessary in the struggle to achieve the goal of the Naga people.
As such, the spirit that had sustained the journey is perhaps unmatched because it has survived and resisted one of the longest battles in South East Asia, defending their land and history, he said.
The general secretary also said that many martyrs remain nameless and faceless but they all paved the right path.
To give them the highest honour, June 19 is being commemorated as ANSAM "Remembrance Day", he added.
