Public will judge Govt: Govindas

MPCC president K Govindas has categorically stated Congress party had already presented facts and figures over the unreasonable hike in fuel prices in the country, and now it is the public who will judge the BJP government for hiking fuel price amid the hardships of Covid-19 pandemic.
MPCC distributed relief items to families in containment zone areas in Pallel, Kangpokpi and Andro in connection with the 51st birthday of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday.
Members of Congress Covid Task Force, Youth Congress, NSUI and other frontal organisations are part of the team that would be distributing the relief items in the coming days.
Flagging off the distribution team from Congress Bhawan, Govindas said that the party through its different sub-committees has been extending helping hand to the pandemic hit people since the very beginning.
He said that Congress party had already requested the government to reduce fuel price considering the hardships facing by the public due to the pandemic.
Unfortunately, BJP is trying to make a false narrative by involving some youths on social media instead of bringing down the fuel price.
Congress does not want to get involved in selfish politics.
Opposition is not responsible for fuel price hike but the government is, the Bishnupur MLA pointed out, reiterating the public will now judge the BJP government for increasing fuel prices.
Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee president N Mahananda, NSUI state president Kabi Ahmad, PCC secretary Gopal, MPCC social media coordinator Malemkhonba Salam, pandemic committee member Ram Prakash, Kakching District Youth Congress president and NSUI volunteers were part of the team that left for Pallel, Kangpokpi and Andro.
On the other hand, MPCC general secretary Maibam Subhaschandra donated medicines to Covid patients staying in different CHICs of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency in relation with the birthday of party leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday.
He visited CHICs located at Malom Bazar, Mekola, Kamakhya Pemton College Hiyangthang and Pitambara High School Heinoukhongnembi and distributed the medicines.
Subhaschandra told media that Congress party always helps needy people and distributes sweets on the birthday of key party leaders.
This year, they are distributing medicines and other relief items to Covid affected people, he said while urging all to follow Covid relevant SOPs and stay safe.
