Site of INA Headquarters in Moirang will be preserved: O Lukhoi

The historic site which used to be the Headquarters if Indian National Army (INA) in Moirang will be developed and preserved.
Tourism Minister Oinam Lukhoi said this today during an inspection visit of tourism projects in Moirang and added that the site in Moirang which once used to be Headquarters of INA during the Second World War will be developed and preserved for the generations to come.
The plan for development of the site was tabled by CM N Biren Singh in the cabinet and it has been approved.
The redevelopment will ensure that the old structures are not demolished but preserved by using new technology, he added.
The residents of the site that will be affected by the development project will be relocated to suitable locations and it is a great gesture of all the residents who had been protecting the historical sites for such a long time, he added.
O Lukhoi inspected the tourism projects taken up at INA Memorial Complex Moirang and Omba hills in the presence of MLA P Saratchandra; Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism) P Vaiphei; Tourism Director W Ibohal and other officials of the department.
