Imphal, October 28 2021:
General secretary of Heinou Khongnembi Akham Leikai Election Committee, Akham Sanjit has strongly condemned the action of Soraisam Govind, spouse of intending candidate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency Soraisam Kebi, who entered the homestead of former MLA RK Anand under the assumed purpose of being on an election campaign.
He deemed this an act of 'political immaturity' adding that it was done to create an atmosphere of unrest in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency.
The statements were made at a press meet held today at the residence of BJP Manipur Pradesh executive member and intending candidate of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC RK Anand at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai organised by Heinou Khongnembi Akham Leikai Election Committee.
A Sanjit stated that S Govind's visit was extremely suspicious and it thereby incited the anger of the local residents.
At this point, S Govind fled the scene through a back door accompanied by another individual, he added.
But his driver along with their vehicle were temporarily detained by the vexed crowd.
However, RK Anand managed to bring the crowd under control and prevented any violent and unfortunate incident as he handled the situation with great maturity, A Sanjit continued.
As a result, both the driver and vehicle were released unharmed.
He thus exhorted the people to lend their support in conducting the upcoming election in a democratic manner, in peace and called for an end to such incidents that can be a cause for agitation to people.
