Imphal, January 19 2018:
Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a Medical Camp for the local population of Kana Valley as part of the ongoing KAGSA meet.
A dedicated team under a Medical Officer provided medical treatment to more than 250 people including over 150 ladies and children during the two day camp.
A dispensary was also established to provide free medicines to the patients.
A part from this, audio visual aids like movies, charts, information boards were used to educate the locals population on various life style diseases and ills of Drug/Alcohol abuse.

The effort of the Unit to reach out to the population was well appreciated by the locals, especially by those belonging to the lowest section of the society and those from far flung/remote areas.
This singular act provided solace to the old & needy living in the Kana Valley.
The Sajik Battalion continues to have a positive rapport with the local population by its relentless efforts.
In the past as well the unit had provided medical assistance to the locals and given life/limb saving emergency treatment to critical patients.
