Imphal, January 19 2018:
Kuki Chief Association Tengnoupal district has demanded the State Government to include the budget for the development of necessary infrastructures of Tengnoupal DHQ, in the 2018-19 State budget.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the association's general secretary LS Seikhojang Baite said that Tengnoupal district does not have a separate DRDA till date, leading to immense hardships for the people.
He claimed that if Tengnoupal district is not properly developed, the Central Government's Act East Policy will face great difficulties during implementation.
The people submitted a memorandum to Works Minister Th Biswajit during last year's Kut festival urging him to take up necessary steps to establish a separate DRDA for the district at the earliest, he added.
The association will launch various forms of agitation if the demands are not fulfilled, he warned.
