MLA Lukhoi bats for renovation of religious sites

The State Government has been proposed to renovate the sacred religious sites in the State, said Wangoi AC MLA Oinam Lukhoi.
He said this during the inauguration of a newly constructed temple of Ema Nungthel Leima at Top Siphai under Wangoi AC today.
Speaking as chief guest, Lukhoi said that there are many sacred religious sites along Mayai Lambi mainly in Wangoi.
He said that the proposal was made to the concerned Minister taking cognizance of the valuable suggestions from several religious gurus and experts.
He elaborated that there are holy temples of Lainingthou Sanamahi, Ema Imoinu, Ema Nungthel Leima at Wangoi and Ibudhou Sankardev at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leisangkhong.
The temple of Lainingthou Sanamahi at Wangoi is considered one of the sacred temples in the State.
There is also another temple of Lainingthou Sanamahi inside the complex of 1 st Manipur Rifles, he added.
The MLA maintained that people from different parts of the State, neighbouring States and Meiteis staying in other parts of the country come to the temple to seek blessings.
Even the Chief Minister came to the temple to seek divine guidance, he said.
He disclosed that there is a high possibility that a separate fund would be allocated in the State budget for renovation of the sacred religious sites in different parts of the State.
It is hoped that the renovation work would be carried out in phase wise manner, he added.
Lukhoi mentioned that he extended a certain amount of money for the construction of Ema Nungthel Leima and Ibudhou Sankardev temples.
Many locals also contributed fund for the construction, he added.
Today's inauguration function was also attended by Longjam Mokhojao, an elderly person of the locality as president; social worker Khuraijam Loken; founder of Royal Academy of Advanced Learning, Top Siphai, Elangbam Ibomcha; Councillors of Thongkhong Luxmi Municipal Council, Chandam Renubala and MV Roushan as guests of honour.
