Imphal, July 08 2015 :
All Manipur Domestic LPG Consumer's Welfare Association has said that there is no let up in the scarcity of LPG in the State even after the introduction of DBTL scheme.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, association president Jayanta Angomcha said that Direct Benefit Transfer LPG Scheme (DBTL) was launched on January 1 this year across the country.
However, there is no let up in the inconvenience faced by the consumers in the State, he said.
Consumers are still purchasing LPGs from the black market at exorbitant price as the agencies are not providing it on time although the Government had promised to provide 12 filled LPG cylinders to every household every year, he said.
Many consumers do not get their share of LPGs although they receive subsidy amount in their bank accounts, he said.
Jayanta said that receiving unnecessary subsidy amount in the bank account is an indication of handing over the consumer's LPG share to some other person.
Urging the authority concerned to probe the matter at the earliest, Jayanta said that they would write to CAF&PD Minister in this connection.
He said that one can easily get information regarding the number of filled LPG cylinders drawn out from his/her account by sending 'Indane LPG Quota' to mobile number 7738299899 from the consumer's registered mobile number.
