Yeh India Ka Time Hai echoes at MU

In comme-moration of the 70th Inde- pendence Day and the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, a programme titled Yeh India Ka Time Hai was held at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University today .
The programme supported by the Department of Education of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India and Manipur University was attended by Prof Adya Prasad Pandey (VC, MU), Prof L Kunjeshwori (Head of the Department of History), and Prof N Lokendra (Dean, School of Social Sciences) and Prof L Sadananda (former Principal, Manipur College) as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively .
Speaking on the occasion, Prof AP Pandey said, "It is crucial to commemorate two of the major historical events.
Now it is our duty to find the problems afflicting India and find solutions while working together to make a strong India."
"Particularly, the young-er generations have to play a major role in making India a vibrant country," the VC told the gathering .
While talking about the State, the VC added, "Various communities live in Ma- nipur, with all of them having rich culture and tradition.
We should preserve the legacies."
Prof AP Pandey concluded by making a statement that our responsibilities are a means to realise the ends of making India a poverty- and corruption-free nation and that it is high time for all of us to work together.
