United Committee Manipur (UCM) has denounced the statement allegedly made by MP Mani Charenamei challenging the territorial integrity of Manipur during the 21st general conference of Naga Students' Federation NSF) held at Naga Sovereignty Park, Kohima on April 22.In a statement, UCM secretary general Gourashyam Khoirom wondered why the State Government has not reacted and remained silence reacted to such irresponsible statements from an elected representative and asked whether the present ruling coalition Government has become a party to those who a trying to disintegrate Manipur.
The State Government should come out with a clarification on this matter at the earliest possible, UCM demanded.
Since Charenamei has made his stand known to the people openly on the issue of territorial integrity of Manipur, the remaining two MPs and the 60 MLAs also ought to come out their respective stand on the issue and made known the same to the people whose stand have been already known the whole world over during the strong protest launched against the extension of the Bangkok declaration signed between the NSCN (I-M) and the Government of India to Manipur, UCM pointed out.
Everyone should understand that there is no force in the world which could disintegrate Manipur which has a history of more than 2000 years, UCM asserted.
