Manipur State Film fest begins

Imphal, December 18 2013:
The 8th Manipur State Film festival began today at the Multi-purpose Auditorium of Mani- pur Film Development Corpo-ration (MFDC) Complex.
The inaugural programme of the film festival was graced by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh; Commissioner of Art and Culture, RK Nimai Singh; noted film maker Aribam Syam Sharma and film actor Kangabam Tomba Singh as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Paying homage to departed eminent film personalities of the State marked the opening function of the festival.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister said that Manipur has achieved global recognition in the fields of sports and art and culture.
Lauding the efforts of film personalities of the State, the CM also urged the Film fraternity to come up with a proposal in order that the Govt can provide aid so that they find a place in the international platform as well.
