Students' exhibition concludes

The 34th State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment exhibition, organised by the Department of Education (S), has concluded at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Former Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof C Amuba, Education (S) Director H Deleep and Education (S) Additional Director S Geeta were the chief guest, president and guest of honour of the closing function respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof C Amuba said that young children are known as natural scientists.
As children are normally curious about many things, parents and teachers must help the children in developing their curiosity to become scientists, he added.
S Geeta while speaking at the function said that the Government has been providing scholarships through INSPIRE awards to the students, who are talented in Science subjects.
She further said that talented students, who have secured top positions in the exhibition, would be sent to Kolkata to receive INSPIRE Award.
While speaking at the function H Deleep emphasised on the need for good teachers to instill scientific temper in the minds of young children.
He also mentioned about the need for dedicated and good teachers to produce good students.
Later, prizes were distributed to top position winners of the exhibition at the function.
In the model competition, Curie Akoijam of Mega Manipur School, Heikrujam Babina of Children's Ideal High School, Kwakeithel and Akoijam Kheroda of Ananda Purna School, Thoubal secured first, second and thirds positions respectively.
Th Simander of JNV, Umathel, Sonia Thounaojam of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School and Yengkhom Yaiphabi of Vale Academy won first, second and third positions respectively.
In the pattern making competition of work experience camp, Th Simander of JNV, Umathel, Sonia Thounaojam of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School and Laishangbam Dyane of Pole Star Public School, Patsoi secured first, second and third positions respectively.
Henkholen Khongsai of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur, Sadananda Laishram of Mother's Pride Academy, Bishnupur and Ashujiio of St Anthony's School, Senapati got first, second and third positions respectively in the life science competition of work experience camp.
In the computer science section, Thangjam Usha of Pole Star Public School, Patsoi, I Ghanendrajit of CC Higher Secondary School and L Malemnganbi of RKP Regular English Academy, Bishnupur secured first, second and third positions respectively.
Yengkhom Yaiphabi Chanu of Vale Academy, Th Mai Karose of St Anthony's School, Senapati and Keisham Thaja Chanu of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School got first, second and third prizes respectively in the Chemistry section while the State Level Best Teacher Guide prize was awarded to K Tolendro of Mega Manipur School.
