Dimapur, December 18 2013:
Clearing the air of confusion and speculations doing the round on whether Naga People's Front (NPF) will support the BJP candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in Manipur's Outer Parliamentary Constituency, the 'Search Committee' of the NPF headed by Nagaland Minister for Planning and Coordination, Evaluation, Geology and Mining is spending sleepless nights in zeroing in on a candidate.
With this development, it has become crystal clear now that the NPF will field its own candidate in the Manipur Outer Parliamentary seat.
The 'Central Headquarter' of NPF based in Kohima has appointed TR Zeliang as the convenor of the 'Search Committee' with MLA from Chandel Victor Nunglung as its 'member secretary, former MLA and NPF Manipur State vice president N Awangbow, NPF Manipur State president Soso Lorho, NPF Mnipur State general secretary (Admn) Honreikhui Kashung and NPF Central H/Q secretary general KG Kenye as members of the committee.
According to sources, the NPF is zeroing down to just three names from several intending candidates.
"Hopefully we are zeroing down to a good and strong candidate and with that we are optimistic to fare well in the forthcoming Lok Sabha poll in Manipur Outer seat," said an NPF leader this evening.
Meanwhile, the NPF Manipur State has been carrying out its political awarness programmes in the hill districts of Manipur.
According to the NPF Manipur State, it has a great chance of winning the Outer Lok Sabha seat in Manipur.
"The response from the people is immense," said another
NPF leader.
