Gallantry Cross for Lt Robin Singh

In recognition of his 'courage and selfless act of heroism' in the battle field, Government of United Kingdom, Ministry of War Transport, Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service has chosen Lt Robin Singh, who led a scout in Afghanistan in 2011, for honouring with 'Conspicuous Gallantry Cross', which is the second highest ranking award along with another six personnel on 19th June 2013 at London.
It is said that Lt Robin Singh ensured the safety of his team, neutralized the enemy and succeeded in his mission success.
As the lead scout of his team, Lt Robin Singh engaged at close quarters with automatic fire and rocket propelled grenades fired upon them by a well armed and determined insurgent force.

But complete disregard for his personal safety, he moved to an exposed firing position in order to fire and throw grenades to suppress enemy within 30 meters of his position.
An order from the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service has stated that Lt Robin Singhs's selfless acts enable the rest of his team to fire and maneuver to regain the initiative and neutralized the enemy.
His efforts are in the first traditions of the Royal Marine and Royal Defence force.
Lt Robin would be granted an allowance amounting of 15,000/- pounds for his courage and respect for the act of heroism, the order added.
