Life Skill Education Training Programme kicks off

Thoubal, March 21 2013:
A Five-day District Level Life Skill Education Training Programme has kicked off from today at the Barrack Hall of Mini Secretariat, Thoubal.
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Thoubal is organizing the training programme under the sponsorship of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur, Chennai.
In all, 40 youths (20 male and 20 female) from different parts of Thoubal district are participating in the training programme.
T Ranjit, Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal and Y Laksman, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
In his speech T Ranjit, DC Thoubal said that Life Skill training will help youths of the district in reducing stress.
It would also help one with the ability to speak freely, share ideas with others and there will be no more tongue tight.
He also lauded that Nehru Yuva Kendra has been doing the best for the youths in the District.
Y Laksman, District Youth Coordinator also highlighted the various programmes and activities being taken up by NYK Thoubal for the welfare of the people especially youths in the society.
Speaking about the training programme, he said, "We can lead a positive life by overcoming various challenges into opportunities.
Life skills will make us more functional, active, positive, more vibrant and vital in decision making, problem solving and coping with emotions, stress and tensions in day to day life" .
He also thanked the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur for sponsoring such training programme in Manipur.
Ch Basanta, TOT, Shri Gopeshor, TOT and W Rita, TOT are the facilitators of the five-day long training programme.
10 core life skills viz.
Self Awareness, Empathy, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Effective Communication, Inter personal Relationship, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Coping with Emotion and Coping with Stress will be covered during the training programme, which would continue
till March 24 .
