A one day Comprehensive training programme on Disaster and Rescue Operation was organized at Shija Hospitals, Langol today by Relief and Disaster Management Department, Government of Manipur.
The Programme was conducted by experts from National Disaster Response Force, Guwahati Office led by Randhir, Inspector, NDRF and State Relief and Disaster Management, Govt of Manipur.
During the training programme, demonstration and hand on training was given for earthquake, fire, electrical, radiological and chemical emergency rescue operation.
Apart from the class room lecture on different aspects of disaster and rescue operation.
Considering the role hospital plays during disaster and emergency rescue operation, the State Department for Relief and Disaster Management identified Shija Hospitals as the venue for training.
This is the first ever training programme on Disaster and Rescue Operation being conducted in a hospital in the region.
Meanwhile, the management of Shija Hospitals appreciated the initiative of the Principal Secretary, Relief and Disaster Management Dept, Govt of Manipur.
The training programme shall go a long way in preparing the centre to deal with relevant disaster and involving the centre in rescue operation, a statement issued by AGM-BD of SHRI informed.
