Kangpokpi, December 01 2014 :
An IED reportedly placed inside the office complex of Deputy Commissioner, Senapati was defused this afternoon at around 1.30 near 9 MR firing range at Taphou Kuki.
In the meantime, expressing serious concern over the placing of IED at public office like DC, civil bodies including Naga People's Organization (NPO) and Senapati District Student's Association (SDSA) have condemned the act as cowardice and anti-people.
The apex bodies in a statement said that the people of the district will not tolerate such destructive role of any revolutionary group attempting to disturb the serenity and attempting to destroy the most important public office like DC office.
Any issue related to individual or group should be sorted out with mutual negotiation and talks rather than targeting public office or general, it advised.
Meanwhile, the tribe hohos of NPO and local bodies including Senapati Disable People's Association, Manipur (SDPAM), Senapati Karong Area Women's Welfare Association (SKAWWA) and Karong Senapati Town Committee (KSTC) have also strongly denounced such act of targetting public office by any armed group or organization.
NNN adds: The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) strongly condemned the 'cowardly' act of planting of a bomb by the "MNPF" in the Deputy Commissioner office complex, Senapati on November 29 in pursuance of monetary demand.
Such acts are alien to Naga culture and way of life.
"We are, however, not surprised as these groups committing such act are known for their notorious and nefarious indulgence in everything that is unbecoming of "revolutionaries" .
ANSAM said that deliberately targeting Naga areas cannot be seen in isolation but should be understood within the larger context of the Naga people's support and advocacy for the Indo-Naga peace and also the aspiration of the Nagas in Manipur for an Alternative Arrangement.
When such aspiration become powerful and a threat to the State and the dominant community it is expected that collusion in any form to weaken and destabilize the process become not just an agenda but a priority for them, it added.
ANSAM then said it would like to state that such act will not deter the Naga people but will instead strengthen our resolve for our political aspiration and to move forward in our noble pursuit.
"We urge our people to be ever vigilant against such terror mongering force who cannot have any place in civilized society," it added.
