Kanggui, March 27, 2014:
Due to shortage of doctors, the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Kanggui (Kangpokpi) has been forced to discontinue its 24x7 services, an unwanted development that could lead to tremendous hardships to the general public.
The CHC Kanggui, however, continues to run its Out Patient Department (OPD) service only with two working doctors.
Dr T Zamkhokam Kuki, Sr MO i/c CHC and DMO Kangpokpi said that they are constrained to discontinue the present 24x7 health service at the CHC.
I have already sent a written representation to the Director Medical and Health Services informing that number of doctors at CHC Kpi has been reduced to three working doctors at present".
The Kuki Students' Organisation Sadar Hills has already announced that it will launch agitation starting with 24hr bandh in all national highways within Sadar Hills from March 28 midnight to be followed by Indefinite economic blockade if authority concerned do not post adequate doctors at the CHC before March 27 .
