Cong MDC joins NPF

Congress ADC member representing 2-Chaton DCC of Tamenglong Tutanbou Guangta, who resigned from the Congress membership few days back has joined the Naga People's Front (NPF) along with his workers.
The ADC member declared his joining of the NPF during the launch programme of campaign for NPF candidates in the Outer Manipur PC for the ensuing LS poll yesterday at Senapati, according to an NPF statement.
NPF president Dr Shurhozelie Liesietsu launched the campaign for Soso Lorho yesterday in the presence of party leaders, workers and supporters.
Speakers during the programme not only emphasised the importance of transforming the Naga political issue but also the problems faced by all sections of the NE communities.
The speakers including the party's candidate, Soso Lorho stressed the importance of peace, progress and development in the NE region, the NPF statement said.
Scrapping of AFSPA, ILPS implementation, effective implementation of LEP, settlement of Indo-Myanmar border issue, women empowerment, youth and sports, investment in agriculture and allied sectors, redressal of regional disparities in NE region, solving tribal and minorities' problems, zero-tolerance policy against corruption, sufficient drinking water and power supply, employment for youths, quality education, equality and justice were emphasised by the speakers during the programme.
