Imphal, October 13, 2013:
A team of the People's Organisation for Civil Integrity and Liberties (POCIL), Heirok today made a spot assessment of the ongoing border fencing work near Moreh Ward No 5, Muslim Basti this afternoon.
Construction of border fence along straight alignment would lead the fence to the middle of the nearby river.
As such, the border fence was constructed skirting around the local playground thereby denying access to the playground, said POCIL president Kh Ibomcha.
He asserted people are aware about Myanmar taking control of large tracts of Manipur's territory.
He also appealed to all concerned not to overlook POCIL while launching any movement to safeguard the territory of Manipur.
It's time people of Manipur stand united and launch a mass movement against all designs to hand over or take over any part of Manipur's territory.
The situation also demands unification of all political parties putting aside their ideological differences for the sake of Manipur's territorial integrity, he asserted.
