Imphal, October 13, 2013:
Other left parties in Manipur would be extending their support to State Secretary of CPI Dr M Nara, who has been projected as the candidate of CPI in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Disclosing this to Hueiyen Lanpao, one of the top leaders of the Left Parties said that with public support, Dr Nara emerged as a strong contender in the last Lok Sabha election.
But this time, the support base of Dr Nara would even more with all the Left parties deciding to support him.
So, there is high chance of his success in the election this time.
It is said that a joint meeting of the CPI (M), All India Forward Bloc, RSP and CPI was held sometime earlier to discuss the matter.
Taking into account of the fact that the Left parties have been going together on various issues at the National level, it was only befitting for them to stand together at the regional and state level as well.
Even Shiv Sena may extend its support to Dr Nara, the leader added.
So far, the stage of Lok Sabha election in the State for the Inner seat seems to have been set among three candidates of Congress, BJP and CPI, which have already finalised their candidates.
On the other hand, since the Left Parties would not be fielding any of their candidates for the Outer seat, they are likely to extend support to C Doungel, who has been already announced as the candidate of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Consequently, NCP is likely to reciprocate the gesture of Left parties by supporting CPI candidate for Inner seat Dr Nara.
