Imphal, October 13, 2013:
KCS Museum of Arts and Crafts, Keishamthong celebrated the 89th birth anniversary of Rajkumar Chandrajitsana Singh (RKCS), founder of the museum.
The anniversary celebration function began with chief guest, Keishamthong AC MLA Laisom Ibomcha Singh leading the people in offering floral tributes at the portrait of RKCS.
Citing lack of exposure as the main reason for lukewarm response to the works of RKCS, the MLA stated that availability of buyers as and when RKCS paintings were/are put on display is a clear indication that in terms of talent and artistic vision RKCS would rank among the best in the profession.
Contrary to many outsiders enquiring about the rKCS paintings and expressing willingness to acquire them for adorning the homes not a single State Government department having RKCS paintings is an abject reminder that State authorities are naive about Manipur's richness in art and culture, expressed the MLA, who also contended that RKCS deserves to be conferred with Padmashree award for his contribution in the field of art.
T MAC chairman RK Gopalsana Singh and Director (Art & Culture) Dr K Sobita Devi also attended the event as the president and guest of honour respectively.
