Imphal, October 13, 2013:
The Kuki National Front-Nehlun group (KNF-N) remembered its founder Nehlun Kipgen yesterday somewhere in Manipur hills.
On October 12, 1993, KNF supremo Nehlun Kipgen was killed by the jawans of CRPF at Motbung.
"The idea of creating a Kukiland propounded by our Supremo late Nehlun Kipgen is with the true revolutionary cadres.
He died 20 years ago but his ideology remains alive and has more impetus among the intellectuals of the Kuki society at large," the KNF-N said.
In this regard, a section of the outfit's 'Special Task Force' headed by its chief (Task Force) K.S.Elson led the ceremony in the presence of 96 cadres, who are undergoing training at Daitwi base camp likely to complete before the advent of Christmas.
Among the other dignitaries that included intellectuals, well-wishers and public leaders and church leaders of the region and of the community, the KNF-N added.
In his presidential speech, Dr.Napoleon Kremlin encouraged the trainees and delivered the message of unity "through the blood" of the outfit's founder supremo.
This occasion will be observed every year to renew the strength and spirit of the cadres to achieve the goal, the KNF-N affirmed.
On security measures, James Kuki, the commander-in-chief of the outfit declared that once the training is concluded, every cadre should report to the assigned post to carry out their duties faithfully without any reservation.
A senior local pastor concluded the programme with thanks giving to the Almighty.
