New JNMDA dance drama premiered

Governor Dr Ashwani said that ever since he took charge of the state most of the programmes he graced have been related to arts.
He was speaking during the premiere of Leima Namul Khambi, a new dance drama production of JN Manipur Dance Academy at its auditorium here his afternoon.
The Governor was accompanied by his wife and first lady of the State.
Vice Chairman of the Academy Prof N Tombi and Director L Upendro Sharma were also present on the occasion.
The Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Academy, went on to say that without art lovers and artists there cannot be programmes related to arts.
"This means that Manipur has a large number of artists and art lovers," Dr Ashwani said, and lauded Manipur for producing such a large number of artists.
Saying that art is life, the Governor quoted an adage, "Life is nothing but it is full of big dreams, dances and dramas".
The new dance drama, the 36th production of the Academy, which is 1 hour and 5 minutes has been directed and choreographed by Th Ibemubi Devi, music scored jointly by Kh Rameshkumar Singh and P Meghachandra Singh and the costume designed jointly by L Sarat Singh and N Amusana Devi.
Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal presented its 36th new dance drama titled, 'Leima Nambul Khambi' at its auditorium at 4 pm, today.
Governor of Manipur Dr Ashwani Kumar, who is also the Chairman of the Academy, inaugurated the new dance drama in the presence of Vice Chairman Prof N Tombi and Director L Upendro Sharma.
The 1 hour and 5 minutes long dance drama is directed and choreographed by Th Ibemubi Devi with music jointly by The dance drama would also be presented tomorrow at the same venue at 5 pm.
