Imphal, June 04 2012:
The charge levelled against the involvement of one RK Chandrajit, a nominee of former MLA of Thangmeiband, in misappropriating the PDS item for the month of March was not without cogent evidence, Kh Joykishan, MLA of Thangmeiband AC said today.
Addressing a press meet today, MLA Kh Joykishan said the charge was made according to evidence provided by L Somorendro, DSO in the CAF & PD.
As per the source, RK Chandrajit had drawn 195.11 quintals of APL rice; 469.08 quintals of BPL rice; 306.95 quintals of AAY rice and 20320 litres Imkong, along with of SK Oil meant for the people of Thangmeiband AC for the month of March.
He said he is ready to face any consequence including legal one in case Chandrajit had not withdrawn the items.
The MLA also wondered over the notice issued by one H Henry, who claimed himself to be the convenor of Thangmeiband Kendra SKO sub-dealers, informing through the media that SK Oil for the month of March would be distributed to the public.
Stating that it was astonishing to see such notice amidst process for initiating an FIR against the swindling of SK Oil, MLA Joykishan said he was dumbstruck that a man strange to him could issue a notice for distribution of SK Oil in his constituency.
He said the misappropriation of the PDS items for the month of March was unearthed when the MLA took the initiative of distributing PDS items to the people of his constituency for the first time after taking oath as a member of the Assembly.
He began a probe when he was given only PDS share for the month of April.
