INTUC for increasing wages

With the increase in minimum wages of workers in Delhi, Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Manipur Branch has demanded similar hike in minimum wages in Manipur as well.
In a statement, Y.Ranapratap Singh, General Secretary of INTUC (MB) pointed out that Minister of Labour and Industry of New Delhi Ramakanta Goshwami has increased the minimum wages of labourers in the capital city with effect from April 1 this year .
The increment was effected in 2 groups with 3 sub-groups each.
The first group consists of un-skilled, semi skilled and skilled with an increment from Rs 6656 to Rs 7020, from Rs 7358 to Rs 7748 and from Rs 8112 to 8528 respectively.
In case of the second group consisting of clerical and non technical with sub-groups namely under-matriculate, matriculate and graduate the increment is from Rs 7358 to Rs 7748, from Rs 8112 to Rs 8528 and from Rs 8814 to Rs 7748 respectively.
This had taken effect from April 01 with minimum wages of Rs 7020 at least and Rs 9282.80 at most in the city, he added.
