Imphal, April 03 2019:
Appealing the people to support and cast their votes for NPP's Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency candidate Thangminlien Kipgen, NPP leader as well as Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar has claimed that if the NPF candidate becomes an MP, the issue of Greater Nagaland will crop up in the Parliament while there will be no development for the people if the Congress candidate wins.
On the other hand, if the BJP candidate wins, it will be similar to supporting CAB 2016, he added.
Speaking at an election campaign for NPP candidate Thangminlien Kipgen at Wangjing Wangkhei, Thoubal district, today, Joykumar said that NPP is a political party which is driven by an objective to work for the welfare of the North East people.
NPP has always stood for the people of the NE region and has always been highlighting the problems and issues faced by the region in Parliament, he added.
Even if NPP is allied with the BJP, the party even took the stand to pull out from the NDA Government if CAB 2016 was passed in the Parliament, he reminded, claiming that the NDA Government eventually decided to refrain from passing due to the pressure from NPP.
Joykumar then lauded CPI for supporting the NPP candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and added that if the CPI candidate wins the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election, the united stand and demands of the North East will be heard by the Central Government.
On the other hand, Health Minister L Jayantakumar said that if either the NPF or the BJP candidate wins the election, then the future generation will have to face the threat of either formation of Greater Nagaland or the passing of CAB.
On the other hand, former MP Kim Gangte, who recently joined NPP, said that the BJP, acting as if it cares for the people, often implements policies which are not beneficial to the people.
The only thing BJP id good at is spreading lies and gunning for popularity through publicity stunts, Kim Gangte claimed.
Many CPI and NPP leaders were also present at the meet.
