PFA rescues pregnant barking deer, 3 leopard cubs

Imphal, April 03 2019:
Since Yaoshang, People For Animal has rescued a barking deer, three leopard cubs, an infant monkey and an owlet (baby owl), said a statement of PFA today.
The pregnant barking deer was rescued from Ukhongshang Mamang Leikai and has been released in its natural habitat, said PFA.
The slightly injured barking deer was caught by one Konthoujam Nanaocha of Ukhongsang Mamang Leikai after it had wandered into the locality, said PFA.
Meanwhile, one Nara, owner of Nara and Sons Brick Field, Charangpat, contacted the PFA and informed about presence of three leopard cubs at the brick field.
The abandoned cubs are under the care of PFA and efforts are on to unite them with the mother, said PFA.
In another incident, PFA rescued an infant monkey found abandoned at a Thabal ground in Maiba Khun.
One Mayengbam Dhanapati and her friends found the baby monkey and contacted PFA.
The monkey is under the care of PFA, said the statement.
An owlet was also handed over to them by one Maibam Sadhana of Yairipok Top Chingtha, said PFA.
