Rhythms of Manipur amazes audience at Jaipur

A fifteen member troupe of the Rhythms of Manipur which was on tour to Jaipur the pink city reached home today after successfully showcasing and presenting various music numbers at Octave 2019 festival of North East organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala in collaboration with Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur from March 26 to 30 last.
The team which includes five lady artistes presented Manipuri Pung Chollom, Dholl Dholok Chollom and Langden chollom during the five days festival.
The performances by the Manipuri artistes impressed the locals, officials of the North Zone Cultural Centre, Jawahar Kala Kendra as well as tourists from foreign countries.
In the festival, cultural troupes from all the eight North Eastern States performed their dance and music numbers besides artisans displayed and sold their products.
In February this year, fourteen members of the Rhythms of Manipur participated at the Octave 2019 held at Hyderbad from February 14 to 17 organized by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur in association with Shilparamam Hyderbad, said a statement of RK Sanatomba Singh, secretary, Rhythms of Manipur.
