Border row Cabinet to set up committee

The State Cabinet has given its approval for the setting up of a Committee to look into the Indo-Myanmar border fencing dispute.
A Cabinet meeting presided today by Chief Minister O Ibobi has decided that the committee would be chaired by Principal Secretary (Home).
Speaking to media persons, Government spokesperson, M Okendro said that members of the Committee would include IG (Intelligence), IG AR (South), officials in-charge of Indo-Myanmar border fencing while Addtional Secretary (Home) would be the member Secretary.
Against the backdrop of reported possibility of involvement of cadres of SoO groups in the abduction of several officials, the Cabinet further decided to review the SoO ground rules and implement it effectively, M Okendro said.
Meanwhile, the State Cabinet vehemently condemned the blast that occurred near the Gate of the CM's Bungalow on August 10.It also felt that the blast was a challenge to the people of the State.
The Govt seriously views such attack when it is carrying out developmental works for the peace loving citizens of the State, he said.
The Cabinet also deliberated on several other issues including upgradation of Head Constables of Manipur Police and setting up of technical university, IETE.
