Patriots' Day greetings

MPCC President and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has conveyed heartiest greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Patriots' Day.
A press statement of Dy CM stated that one should never forget the courageous forefathers of the hill and valley who sacrificed their lives fighting against the British in 1891. Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Lokeshwar Singh has urged the people to jointly take a firm resolution to safeguard the integrity of Manipur on the occasion.
In a press release, he observed the cause of the Patriots' Day observance and paid his respect to the belated forefathers.
"Like them, we should sacrifice in possible ways and avoid small communal thoughts to acheive a united and harmonious land", the release quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, a separate press release of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Manipur Pradesh informed that it is organising a State level open debating competition in connection with the remembrance month of martyrs - 2013, on August 13 at 11 am at State Party Office, Nityaipat Chuthek here.
