Imphal, April 10:
Saluting all the 'martyrs' who have laid down their lives in the struggle to gain back the lost sovereignty of the land ahead of its Martyrs Day on April 13, the proscribed RPF has today urged the people to extend their co-operation and spare some time to pay their homage to the martyrs at Cheiraoching on said day.
The outfit has also appealed to the people to suspend all entertainment programmes and cease work on the said day and to light up the gate of their residences in evening as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
In a statement issued to the press, the assistant secretary, communication and publicity of the RPF, Lily Leima said that the spirit behind the momentous occasion of April 13 has been sustaining the revolutionary movement and wished that the day may inspire the people as well as the revolutionary outfits to work unitedly under the same spirit.
Saluting the martyrs, Lily Leima said that the PLA will strive till the ultimate goal of sovereignty is achieved.
The outfit also advised that if any of the revolutionary organisations had done anything wrong or gone against the aspiration of the people then the group responsible should be bold enough to seek the pardon of the people.
The principle 'our gun is trained against the enemy and not on the unarmed people,' should not be forgotten, said the statement.
The outfit further lamented that some elements who are thriving off the present regime are hell bent on working against the revolutionary movement.
Such people seem to have forgotten that the people they are fighting are their brothers, sisters and mothers, said the outfit.
Such elements are under the illusion that they are enjoying freedom under Delhi while in fact they are being caged from all sides, said the statement and added that the fight was taken up to counter the repressive measures adopted by the Indian system.
The fight is all that more justified and sustained if one recalls the manner in which Th Manorama was killed, then it aptly sums the terror unleashed by India, asserted the outfit.
Addressing the State police commandos, Lily Leima questioned whether they have been able to restore the dignity of Naobi or not.
She was mauled mercilessly.
The outfit urged all the people to extend their co-operation and pay fitting respect to the departed souls, martyrs on April 13 .
