Noney, April 21 2022: A mega campaign on Annadata Devo Bhava under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav for 'Increasing Farm Income cum Millets Germ Plasm Collection' for Haochong and Khundong villages was held at Haochong village under Noney district on Thursday.

The awareness programme was organised by ICAR- KVK Tamenglong under ICAR Manipur Centre.

During the awareness programme, Agronomy Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Gaipuichung Kamei highlighted and talked on the topic, "Importance of Millets cultivation for increasing farm income" while Soil Science SMS Dr I Bhupenchandra delivered a talk on "Soil Fertility Management in Millets Cultivation" .

As part of the event, seeds of Kharif crops were distributed to the farmers.

Millets germ plasm collection was led by Extension technical officer Lungkhong Riamei.

Altogether 30 farmers attended the awareness programme.
