Imphal, June 02 2021:
Online classes for colleges under Manipur University should be started to ensure that syllabus for the current semester can be completed in time.
Imphal College Student Union (2020-21) said this in a statement issued today and demanded clarification on schedule of examinations.
The union also appealed the Government to make provisions to make sure the students doesn't have to lose their academic year by provision of online examination.
Colleges and university in other parts of India has already completed their examinations for semester 2/4/6 and some are planning to conduct online semester examinations, while Colleges under Manipur University are not even conducting online classes after repeated request, added the statement.
It can also be noted here that normal classes had been interrupted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following college teachers strike for pay raise, in view of this, it is only imperative that Government takes up step to conduct online classes and examination for a better future for all the students, added the statement.
This will also ensure better time management for students who are engaged in using uncontrolled used of mobile during the pandemic.
Completion of syllabus and examination in time will make it possible for students who wants to go abroad for further studies.
