Workshops, spare parts shops to reopen

Imphal, June 02 2021:
The state government has exempted motor vehicle workshops and spare parts shops from the purview of the ongoing curfew imposed in seven districts since May 28 .
As per an order issued Tuesday by Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, who is also the State Executive Committee chairman, opening of workshops of goods trucks, petrol tankers and LPG bullets within the Municipal Area would be allowed from 9 am to 3 pm but with adequate protection and strict compliance with Covid appropriate behaviour.
Regarding the opening of spare parts shops, the order specified and one each out of three such shops, three tyre shops and three battery shops of heavy vehicles in Thangal Bazar would be allowed to open from 10 am to 2 pm on all days except Sunday.
While advising DC and SP of Imphal West district to prepare the roster system for these outlets, the order also permitted operation of four insurance offices namely United India Insurance Co Ltd-Thangal Bazar, National Insurance Company Ltd-Thangal Bazar, The New India Insurance Company Ltd-Ching- meirong Nepali Basti and The Oriental India Insurance Company Ltd-Thangal Bazar with limited staff from 10 am to 2 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
It further mentioned that DCs and SPs concerned shall take necessary action to implement the orders strictly.
