Kakching, May 13 2021:
To check whether essential commodities are being sold at the government fixed price amidst the second wave of COVID-19, volunteers of Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) conducted drive at shops located in Chandel district headquarters area on Thursday.
NSUC president SK Joseph Lamkang informed that the drive was conducted following reports that essential commodities are sold at exorbitant prices in Chandel taking undue advantage of the curfew imposed in Imphal, Thoubal and Kakching districts.
He maintained that prices of essential commodities cannot be hiked at this hour of crisis and any shop found selling essential commodities at prices above normal rates would be dealt with strictly.
