Governor Dr Najma Heptulla extended warm wishes to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Governor in her message said that the festival is celebrated in a spirit of peace, love and universal brotherhood and it embraces one and all within its divine fold and teaches mankind to do good deeds to enrich the soul.
Further she appealed all to resolve to work together for a peaceful and prosperous society.
Greeting the people on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the noble ideals that mark Eid-ul-Fitr hold important values and lessons that are relevant to all irrespective of religion and belief systems.
In view of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister urged the Muslim brethren to restrict the celebration within their homes adhering to Covid SOPs to protect oneself from the pandemic.
Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh, Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh and Speaker Y Khemchand Singh also sent their wishes to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity.
Several political, social and student organisations including Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), NSUI, Manipur, All Meitei Pangal Club Organisation Manipur (AMPCOM), Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students, New Delhi, Students Union of Kangleipak (SUK) and Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) also greeted the people on the occasion.
The organisations appealed to all to follow SOPs and precautionary measures in view of COVID-19 .
