Security meet organised

Imphal, November 09 2021:
Chassad Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted security meet at Chassad on Tuesday during which the locals were updated about prevalent security situation existing in the area and likelihood of various anti-national activities being planned by insurgent groups in the run up to the upcoming assembly elections.
Necessary measures required to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles for maintaining a strict vigil against illegal activities in the area, particularly extortion and smuggling were also discussed, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
On the other-hand, Loktak and Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) organised friendly volleyball matches with the local youths at Ningthoukhong village in Bishnupur district and Laipham village in Tengnoupal district on Tuesday.
According to the PRO, the matches were conducted as part of Khelo India initiative to promote the importance of sports in personality building and fitness amongst local youths.
At the culmination of matches, sports items were distributed to the participating youths.
