During the programme, which was organised under the sponsorship of EYS Group of Companies, more than 200 saplings were planted around the resort.
Speaking on the occasion, IRCS MSB chairman Dr Y Mohan and MDA secretary Ksh Sanjay stressed on the need for conducting more such plantation programmes as it is the simplest way to protect the environment and address the issue of climate change.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri and Chassad battalions of IGAR (South) organised tree plantation drives at various places in Kamjong and Imphal West districts respectively on Monday and Tuesday with dual aim of spreading awareness about environmental protection, soil conservation and to ensure its contribution in making the society clean and green.
