Imphal, September 06 2022:
Heibok Lainingthou Lairembi Thougal Lup secretary RK Memcha has urged the state government to withdraw its order for removal of 4 shrines and guest house constructed at Heibok Chingol.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club here on Tuesday, RK Memcha said that there is no problem in converting the hill ranges of Heibok Ching into an eco tourism park.
However, it is equally important to preserve the sacred sites located at the hill range.
After repeated incidents of the shrines being vandalised, 4 shrines were rebuilt in the area after requesting minister Th Biswajit.
The nearby guesthouse served as a place to teach traditional songs, dance and Thang-Ta to young kids.
Thus, she urged the people of the state to help preserve the sacred sites and further pleaded the government to withdraw its order for removal of the shrines.
