Like Minded Group extends help

Like Minded Group (LMG) Manipur donated essential items and clothes to the family at Bashikhong Kongba Irong whose house was burnt by one of its family members on June 26 in an inebriated state.
A team led by the advisor of LMG, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai.vice president Dr Maibam Nodiyachand , secretary Sorokhaibam Ojit , assistant secretary Ningombam Ranibala, Chingakham Boby Khundrakpam along with other members of the group handed over the relief materials to the affected family, said a press release by LMG.
The relief materials included edible oil, salt, pulses, sugar, maggi, hand sanitizers, glucose and other clothing materials.
Speaking on the sidelines, Sorokhaibam Ojit termed the incident as really unfortunate and rare where the house is burnt by one of its family members causing suffering and pain to other family members.
He stated that prolonged addiction to drugs and alcohol leads to mental disorder thereby causing turmoil in the family concerned and to the society as a whole.
He further appealed to the Government to regulate a special policy to look after those who are under the influence of substance abuse.
The relief materials amounting to around Rs 10,000 (Rupees ten thousand) were contributed from the fund of Like Minded Group and from the materials donated by its members.
