AR conducts career counselling, extends aid

Imphal, June 28 2021:
Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) organised Online Career Counselling at Khongbung village in Bishnupur district on Monday to guide the local youths about career opportunities in Armed Forces and civil streams.
The youth were also briefed on various online education platforms to enhance their skills and knowledge during the nationwide pandemic, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
The PRO also informed that Loktak Battalion organised an interaction session with Meira Paibi members of Kangvai & Moirang and distributed COVID relief items on Monday.
During the event organised to enhance the synergy between Assam Rifles and the local populace, important issues related to security, education and social uplift were discussed in addition to the Meira Paibi members briefed about resurgence of COVID-19 and precautions to be taken in order to restrict the spread of virus.
Hand sanitizers, sterilised gloves and face masks were also distributed during the event, it added.
On the other hand, 10 Sector of IGAR (South) organised a lecture cum demonstration on tree plantation with the help of Forest Department in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts on Monday.
According to the PRO, the lecture was conducted with the aim to educate the troops the right ways of tree plantation.
During the event, Ukhrul Forest department assistant conservator emphasised on the importance of tree plantation, nurseries' development and vermicompost pits.
The event culminated with demonstration of right technique of planting a sapling and making a compost pit, said the PRO.
