Aspiring candidate urges Maoist against ban

Expressing surprise after the KCP (Maoist) group proclaimed prohibition on his entry into politics, candidate aspirant for the upcoming Assembly elections from Sekmai Assembly Constituency Ayangbam Oken has appealed to the armed group to enable him and his supporters move without any fear or apprehension.
Talking to some newspersons at Sekmai today, Oken said his decision to contest the election was taken with the firm commitment to serve people of the assembly constituency who have suffered a lot owing to lack of development in various sectors.
Stating that his decision to enter the fray as a candidate has overwhelming support of the people who are aspiring for a better life, Oken said for the past many years he had been contributing his mite for the welfare of the Sekmai masses.
However, as there are still many areas that could not be covered inspite of his endeavour representing the Sekmai AC people has become inevitable to highlight their suffering, he expressed.
Oken also drew attention of the armed group that imposing restriction against him and his supporters is certain to cause various inconveniences and reiterated his fervent appeal for withdrawal of the ban.
