Railway worker killers held

Imphal, April 27 2011:
Three hardcore activists of the United Tribal Liberation Army-UTLA (Max faction) including its self styled Commander in Chief, allegedly involved in the murder of an employee of the Bharati Construction Company handling the Jiribam-Tupul railway project in February of this year have been apprehended by troops of 11 AR of the Red Shield Division.
Self styled commander in chief, Ngurkhaho aka Max (23) of Palel, Luminthang (20) of Churachandpur and Lulun (18) of Jiribam were nabbed in an anti-insurgency drive launched near Kaimai village of Tamenglong district today, a statement of the 57 Mtn Div said.
The cadres were allegedly involved in the murder of Pintu Das, an employee the Bharat Construction Company in February this year.
Eight packets of explosive material (PEK), two detonators (no.27) and Cordex of five metres were recovered from the apprehended terrorists.
They were handed over to Porompat PS, the release added.
Pintu Das (32) son of Anil Das of Tripura's Kumatghat, mention may be made, was shot dead by miscreants on February 8 of this year while he was in his make shift office near construction site.
An UTLA activist alleged of being a conspirator in the murder had also been arrested on March 15 of this year by 22 AR.
In another operation, a PLA cadre and a PREPAK cadre were also nabbed.
The PLA cadre was arrested by a team of I/W police commandos while the PREPAK cadre was apprehended by a combined team of I/E police commandos and troops of 30 AR.
The PLA cadre, Mayanglambam Manglem Singh (40) of Kakching Khunyai Leikai was arrested today around 8.30 am from RIMS gate, a statement of the I/W SSP said.
The PREPAK cadre, Amom Shyamchand (30) of Takhel Makha Leikai was arrested today around 8 am from Takhel Makha Leikai near a bus parking.
A .32 pistol loaded with seven live rounds was recovered from his possession, I/E SP said.
