State lass wins Miss NE title

Imphal, November 19 2014:
22-year-old State lass Rupali Longjam was crowned Miss North East 2014 in the beauty pageant organised by North East Forum for Indigenous Culture and Arts at Beraw Tourist Complex, Aizawl on November 14 last.
Another girl from the State, Chanchan (21) won the Miss Talented subtitle in the same competition.
The Miss North East title carries a cash prize of Rs One lakh while the subtitles carry cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each.
Apart from the Miss title, Rupali also won the subtitles of Miss Congeniality and Best Costume.
A BBM graduate from Albas College, Mangalore, Rupali is the daughter of Longjam Jibonkumar and Longjam ongbi Gunimala of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai.
She studied up to Class VI at Little Flower School, Imphal and from Class VII to X in St Mercy School, Shillong.

After Matriculation, she continued her studies in Mangalore and completed BBM from Albas College.
Talking to reporters at Halley Models Grooming Studio, Haobam Marak, Rupali said that she is a student of the studio.
She credited her success to Halley Leithangbam of Halley's Models Grooming Studio, her parents and designer Goswami.
Saying that she wants to continue modelling as her passion in future as well, Rupali said that she would however pursue MBA in Bangalore.
The beauty pageant, which was contested by 12 contestants, had three rounds - traditional, casual and evening gown.
Rupali said that she showcased 'potloi' in the traditional round.
Another girl from the State, Chanchan, who mesmerised the audience with her performance of Manipuri dance, won the Miss Talented subtitle in the beauty contest.
She is the daughter of Ch Ibomcha and Ch ongbi Renubala of Yumnam Huidrom.
Halley Leithangbam said that he has been imparting necessary training to aspiring models and Rupali was the first product of Halley's Models Grooming Studio.
Halley said that he is planning to promote Rupali in other bigger contests.
Memyo Ningombi also took part at the beauty contest as a jury.
