World Toilet Day observed

World Toilet Day was observed today at the Tentha Model School organised by the Action for Rural Development Organization (ARDO),Wangjing and Tentha Model School.
The programme was attended by Deputy Inspector of School, Zone-III, Thoubal Tekcham Bikomdas Meitei as the chief guest, Pradhan, Tentha Gram Panchayat, Naorem Pradip Singh as president and SO PHED Thoubal A Kumar Singh as the guest of honour.
L Jailshyam Singh,Co-Ordinator,Action for Rural Development Organization said that sanitary toilet is necessary as open reservoir toilet used till few years back can cause diseases, especially during the rainy season when the impurities can come in contact with water and cause contamination.
Demonstration of complete hand wash was also shown as a part of the programme.
Prize distribution was also held for slogan and drawing competition which was organised under World Toilet Day.
