Hiyanglam rally against arrest of GP lady

Protesting the arrest of Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat Pradhan Elangbam (O) Rajni Devi and demanding her unconditional release, local people of Hiyanglam including MGNREGS job-card holders took out a protest rally today.
Meanwhile, the JAC Against the Arrest of Elangbam Rajni, Pradhan Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat has decided to launch intense modes of agitation from July 12 in case Rajni is not released by July 11 without any condition.
The protest rally participated by hundreds of people started from Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai at about 2 pm today.
The protesters carried placards and festoons which read as "Fabricated complaints cannot indict Pradhan Rajni", "Police should uphold justice", "Pradhan Rajni never forfeited wages of job-card holders", "Rajni should be released immediately without any condition", "Innocent Pradhan Rajni should not be detained in police custody any longer" etc.
After reaching Wabagai Lamkhai, the silent rally terminated at the starting point.
Speaking to media persons after the protest rally, JAC secretary Wahengbam Subhashini stated that the JAC would not accept the allegations levelled against Pradhan Rajni who is currently detained in police custody .
She said that Rajni was working with commitment and sincerity for development of the Gram Panchayat.
Alleging that Rajni was being detained in police custody under a political conspiracy, the JAC secretary condemned the attempt to project the Pradhan in the wrong light by levelling fabricated and false charges against her.
The JAC has decided to launch intense modes of agitation including bandh on Mayai Lambi and Indo-Burma-Sugnu Road with effect from 6 pm of July 12 and non-cooperation with Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency MLA Elangbam Dwijamani in case Pradhan Rajni is not released by 5 pm of July 11, the JAC secretary stated.
